®RUCO-GUARD AFR is durable, really durable

With conventional products, the created water-repellent effects are greatly affected during washing. The effect-producing fluorocarbon side chains are re-orientated, because the surrounding water is too polar a medium for the highly hydrophobic side chains. At the same time, the mechanics during washing in domestic washing machines affects the fluorocarbon resin‘s outer layer and abrades it.

The orientation and thus the soil-repellent effects reversed by scouring can only be regenerated by strong heat treatment, eg ironing.

®RUCO-GUARD AFR incorporates a booster with high binding mechanism for obtaining finishes with high durability and good hydrostatic head.

Washables such as table cloths, trousers, workwear require such a distinct durability.

Good hydrostatic head, however, is important to awnings, canvas or geo-textiles.

®RUCO-GUARD AFR confers both, high resistance to washing and dry cleaning and, simultaneously, good hydrostatic head.
