C6-based Solvent Fluorocarbon Polymers
For ecological reasons, RUDOLF assumes technical leadership in the field of C6 solvent fluorocarbon polymers. Examples are RUCO-COAT FC 6020 and RUCO-COAT FC 6025. With rapidly drying solvents, the application of solvent-based, fluorocarbon-containing repellent systems has, in contrast to aqueous systems, the general advantage of a more rapid development of the orientation of repellents on substrates and, thus, of a faster development of water, oil and soil-repellent effects. The energy and time-consuming curing stage - as necessary in aqueous systems - can be omitted. This is, above all, an essential advantage for formulations that are used at ambient temperature, but also in applications where curing is impossible or undesired.
The choice of the repellent in solvent coating decisively depends on the solvent(s) used. First of all, the repellent has to be compatible with the solvent used. For ecological reasons, PFOS* and PFOA*-free systems are increasingly demanded by the market.
