Apart from moisture and warmth, bacteria require, above all, large surfaces to multiply by the formation of colonies. Working principle of protective shields against bacteria
®RUCO-BAC HSA CONC builds a durably fixed, positive-charged protective shield on textile substrates, which shields bacteria and prevents the colonisation and multiplication on textile surfaces.
Bacteria are inactivated when getting in direct contact with textile surfaces that are functionalised with ®RUCO-BAC HSA CONC. Bacterial cells with their negative charge are first attracted and bonded by the protective shield. Then, the protective shield blocks the cell function and their re-production. This mechanism controls odour-causing bacteria and avoids unpleasant odours in textiles.
