Solutions to prevent oligomer problems

Oligomers – the long-running problem in PES-finishing

Oligomers are a constantly recurring problem in PES-finishing.

Oligomers are low-molecular by-products that inevitably arise when manufacturing high-molecular polyester granulate for the fibre production.

When finishing polyester textiles, especially in hydrothermal processes, e.g. when dyeing by the exhaust method depending on temperature and time, oligomers migrate from inside the fibre to the surface. This behaviour causes problems during finishing and processing textiles.
